Sexy Healthy Foods

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Hippocrates

Crazy Sexy Carrots! There are so many wonderful sexy, juicy foods that can support healthy sexual function without having to resort to a little blue pill, like Viagra or Cialis. My personal preference is to make food your medicine. Treat your body as if it is your temple, because it is. Your body houses your soul. It is sacred, to be cared for and treated with the respect it deserves. Use foods as your first line of defense rather than opting for medications that have side effects.

We are meant to function fully, with ribald sex well into our 70’s. If you aren’t having great sex now, why not? (This blog post is an excerpt from my book, Orgasm For Life available on Amazon.

Vegetables are even sexy. Eating them is even better. What we put in our mouths either makes or breaks our sexual power. If you are eating white bread, sugar and high fructose, you can be assured that high cholesterol will plague you down the road. When cholesterol is high, it clogs your arteries and can cause erectile dysfunction. Rather than thinking about taking a little blue pill that could kill you – why not use a little restraint now and focus on eating healthy?

Sweetened Beverages

Drinking juices with high fructose causes your bad cholesterol to rise, which can also create erectile dysfunction. Stay away from food additives, artificial sweeteners and highly sugared foods, like soda, sweet tea, or energy drinks.

Watermelon – For Firmer Erections

Watermelon is in season now. It’s rich, bright color draws you in. The juice, and white rind are actually good for you. Watermelon contains the phytonutrient citrulline. Citrulline is known for it’s benefits for making men’s erections firmer, stronger and longer lasting. There are supplements in the health food stores you can take if you have a serious issue with erectile dysfunction. You will be pleasantly surprised at how well it works.

Pomegranates For Better Blood Flow

You can’t look at a pomegranate without thinking SEX! It is pretty, sensual and so juicy. How can you resist? Pomegranates have powerful antioxidants, which protect the lining of the blood vessels. What is great about blood flow, you ask? Increased genitalia sensitivity! Feed your partner pomegranate seeds and the juice prior to having sex. It is a sensual food that helps to heighten arousal.

Red Wine

It could be argued that wine is not a fruit, but it used to be! Even the look of it is sexy. Red wine will relax the body faster than a full body massage. It also helps women to release inhibitions so that they can enjoy more pleasure. The key is a little, not a lot. A glass rather than a bottle. If you drink a bottle the only pillow talk happening could be the type accompanied by drooling on your pillow!

Red wine contains reservatrol a powerful antioxidant which increases blood flow, boosting circulation during and after love making. By now you are probably making the connection. Red foods, increase blood flow. Red grapes are better for you than green ones.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (not to be confused with the musical group)

Yes nature is quite comical. Peppers that look like penises. I couldn’t resist! Red hot chili peppers warm your body through capsicum. They increase blood flow, which is a good thing for sexual function.

Avocado

This fruit even looks sexy. It was banned by the Catholic priests in Spain for looking too sexy! Yup! It was banned. This is true. The Aztecs thought of this fruit as an aphrodisiac. They named it “Ahuacuatl, ” which means “testicle tree.” High in folic acid, B6, omega 3s, potassium oleic acid and cancer fighting goodness. High in fat which is needed to create testosterone. Contrary to what the American Medical Association dictated about 10 years ago, this fruit is very good for you. Eat it every day in salads, on top of soups or by itself.

Bananas

Another sexy fruit full of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B and bromelane, said to increase the male libido. Not surprising since bananas resemble a penis.

Chocolate

With a high concentration of cocoa powder, it is good for the heart. Chocolate causes our brains to secrete endorphins. Chocolate contains phenylethylamine (PEA) which stimulates the same hormone. Eating chocolate is sexy. It has been used in seduction rituals. Considered a valuable commodity by the Aztecs, and connected to the Goddess of fertility. What’s not to like? Chocolate also replicates the feelings of LOVE in the brain. No wonder women love it!

Oysters

Loaded with zinc, and omega 3s, Cassanova apparently ate 50 a day, to aid sperm production. They contain dopamine, which relieves depression. There are many reasons to eat this very sexy and sensual food.

Asparagus

Also incredibly sexy, I love to eat it grilled or sauteed in olive oil. Asparagus increases circulation in the genitals as well as the urinary tract, which is good for increased sexual function. In the late 17th century herbalist, Nicolas Culpepper wrote that it “stirs up lust in a man and women.” In 19th Century France, bridegrooms were fed two platefuls of the rich green vegetable prior to consummating their marriage. Among other wonderful vitamins of A and C, it boosts histamine production which is necessary for orgasm. You will want to eat heaping platefuls of this gorgeous food!

Eggs

The ultimate fertility symbol and sexual aphrodisiac of the Gods. They symbolize rebirth, long life and fertility. It is believed that eggs have the ultimate gift of virility straight from The Gods. Full of vitamin B, eggs will help you be stress-free and focus fully on the job at hand. Whether you eat them poached, boiled, scrambled or raw, eggs are your friend. Did you know that men cannot produce testosterone without cholesterol? Something to think about my friends.

Other foods that are good for sexual function are salmon, walnuts, flax seeds and pumpkin seeds.
